My man Nerve from Sharp State of Mind Radio (the show that directly follows mine) mentioned how good hearing House Music makes him feel and so i decided to run with his theme. A mix of classics, along with a little bit of this & that and here ya go. Enjoy & tell a friend, peace & luv luv. Luv Luv Radio w/DJ Malachi 1/18/12 Muneshine - Love is Love

Happy Holidays to everyone, i hope these times are filled with genuine happiness and good cheer. Extended the show this week and started off with some holiday favs. I was remarking to a friend on how I luv listening to Kurtis Blow's "Christmas Rappin'" even when it's not in season. Point blank it's just a great song and of course I had to rock the long version. I even had to dust off the classic from my former group 75 Degrees "This Christmas (In The Bay)". This jam was way ahead of it's time, a Bay Area Holiday joint put out in 1997, simply unheard of. The lyrics are clever & on point, at the time (late 90's) we felt the holidays were getting too commercialized and the true essence if you will was being forgotten. It was definitely one of our prouder moments as a group and my cuts were great (patting myself on the back, lol). Not to be overshadowed DJ Franchise from IKnowTheLedge.com fell thru as well and dropped great tunes as well. It's always fun to sit back and hear another dj's do his or her thing on the show. Franchise is no stranger to the show and can be heard at various clubs around the Bay. Follow him on Twitter @djfranchise and check for his mixes on Mixcrate & Soundcloud. Enjoy your holidays and we'll see you next year with more luv luv and great Soul music, peace. Luv Luv Radio w/DJ Malachi 12/21/11 Muneshine - Love is Love

As always thanks for tuning in and supporting Luv Luv Radio. Bit of a sad week, as we lost a Hip Hop icon in Heavy D.. Played a couple of my favs along with a couple of the more obscurer tracks. Heavy D. came around during a special time in Hip Hop. What I liked most about him was how he always brought fun to the game (if you will). His music will be played for years to come, which says alot about his impression as well as artistry. He paved the way for many in Hip Hop and will be missed. R.I.P. brother Heavy I know your smiling down on us. I also played a number of new joints as well, including new music from Lalah Hathaway & Deborah Bond, both of whom have new albums out. If you get a chance, listen to them and support what they bring to the table. Catch you next week with more luv luv and good vibes, peace. Luv Luv Radio w/DJ Malachi 11/8/11 Muneshine - Love is Love

Thanks for tuning in family. Today it was my pleasure to have in studio to the show, the homie D. Edward. D (Dale) has been putting it down in The Bay Area for years, as a songwriter, percussionist (Con Funk Shun), most noteably of late, singer. His new album "Little Red Box" is currently in stores, on CD Baby, iTunes, etc... and is getting rave reviews. We discussed a myriad of subjects as well as played a number of songs off the new album. Enjoy the show and getting to know this positive young man a bit and be sure to check out his site www.thelittleredbox.com and support his project. Peace and luv luv. Welcome back and as always thanks for tuning in. True indeed i might be using the classics a bit liberally, but hey, let me do my thing, lol. This week we have a bunch of great new Soul treats, including new music from Slim Kid 3 (The Pharcyde), the Bay's own Tracy Cruz, Mark de Clive-Lowe and more. I mentioned Tracy Cruz, she has a new album out titled "Universal Symphony" available on iTunes, definitely worth a purchase. Really looking forward to new albums as well from Soul heavyweights Eric Roberson & Lalah Hathaway in the coming weeks. Also stay tuned for a new mix-cd from myself coming very soon, exciting. R.I.P. Thanks again for tuning into the show. It's funny sometimes, I had a show all ready to go, i get to the station and i decide to scrap it. To use a football analogy, i looked at the defense and called an audible, lol. I went with the Champagne Soul set (borrowing the name from The Honor Roll Crew). I hope you enjoy the set as much as i did, and shouts out as well to my dude Sharif Frink, I'm gonna make a cd of this set soon, i promise bruh. Thanks for the support and one luv luv. Thanks for listening and tuning in to Luv Luv Radio. This week's show is dedicated to the memory of Nickolas Ashford of the famed song writing/artists/husband & wife duo Ashford & Simpson. Nick along with his wife, Valerie Simpson wrote songs that transcended generations, woo'd lovers, told stories, made folks smile, became the fabric of our lives. Their artistry is undeniable and the fabric they weaved is endless. I got a chance to see them a few years back along side my crew (The World Famous Rick & Russ Show) in the Bay Area and the one word that comes to mind in regards to them is, genuine. Nick was a true Diva and their love of performance and each other was front & center. Enjoy this episode featuring the music of Ashford & Simpson and very special shoutout to my great friend Crystal Martin for sitting in with me and making this show that much more special for me. Peace and luv luv. Luv Luv Radio w/DJ Malachi 8/24/11 Muneshine - Love is Love

From Teedra Moses to Emily King to Lalah Hathaway to Ledisi, it's such a great feeling to hear exciting new projects from all these artists. It's also great to see & hear new music from outside the US, including Rochelle Jordan (Canada), Electric Empire (Australia), Hollie Smith & Mara Tk (New Zealand). Thanks for tuning in. This week was so much fun for me. We had the pleasure of having in studio my dude, soul singer/producer I, Ced and Stopha Vasquez. I, Ced is currently promoting his debut album "All In My Mind" on Record Breakin Music (www.recordbreakin.com). We played my favorite cut off the album, which also happens to be the title cut, as well some other gems from I, Ced. We cover many topics including St Louis (his hometown), the independent soul scene, and most importanly his album. Please support I, Ced & Stopha Vasquez (who's featured prominently on I, Ced's album) on their projects and follow them both on Twitter @I_Ced & @stopha1. Also crazy huge shoutout to Max Kane for holding it down on the 1's & 2's while we chopped it up. Thanks again for the luv luv and have a great week! in the pic above, left to right, max kane, stopha vasquez, i, ced, dj malachi, dj tekneek Luv Luv Radio w/DJ Malachi 7/20/11 Muneshine - Love is Love

Summer is definitely heating up here in the Bay and on the musical front things are just as HOT! New albums from the likes of Ledisi, Jill Scott, Musiqsoulchild etc... lends for a great Summer soundtrack. Really looking forward to having the homie I, Ced in studio with me in a few weeks. Played something new from him ("Angel" Just Like Magic) as well as an older selection. Please check out and support his debut All In My Mind when it drops July 12th and listen for him on Luv Luv Radio. Ironically "Angel" (Just Like Magic) happens to use the sample as Ledisi's "Coffee" another new joint i've been feeling of late. Great minds think alike never fit more apropos. They both use Idris Muhammad's "Loran's Dance" which is an undeniable classic for jazz fans, beat junkies and more. Gotta run, but enjoy the show and tell a friend, gracias family. I had to do it!!! So much great new music this week led by the new Nas, Salaam Remi produced track "Nasty". So great to hear this, and looking forward to much much more. New music from Foreign Exchange, Freddie Joachim, Tall Black Guy, and one of my all time favorites Jamiroquai. Man, I remember seeing them at Bimbo's (SF) when they first came to the States. They gave an incredible show and years later they did a free 4th of July show in Union Square that i'll never forget. Their new track "Smile" is very reminiscent of their earlier material. Lush strings along with timely horns make this one an early summer favorite for me. I have some very special guest dj's coming in the next few weeks, so stay tuned and as always, peace and luv luv.

Hey fam, as always thanks for tuning in. This week even though we started off with some technical difficulties we made it thru and had a great show. You've heard his voice for a while now, but I had to put DJ Tekneek to work this week behind the turntables. Nice set with some newer and older joints. Please listen/download the show and if you wanna hit up Tekneek you can find him at http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=1009246780. Take care and catch y'all next week with more good Soul.
